It had taken a little time to find this stick, which accounts for the delay in my reply, but His Majesty hopes that it may prove a suitable substitute. I submitted your letter also to Queen Mary, who was much interested by it. Her Majesty, of course, remembers your father well, and the book which he gave her in India is now at Buckingham Palace.
